Denver International Airport Rebrands

Commemorating its 20th anniversary, Denver International Airport (DIA) has rebranded with a new logo.

The new design features the Jeppesen Terminal (which wasn’t built when the original logo was designed) and displays the airport code DEN boldly, downplaying the actual name Denver International Airport. The airport is known as DEN and not DIA globally, so the change is a good move.

Much is happening at DIA in the coming months; a brand new Westin hotel and conference center, an open air public plaza and a rail line connecting the airport to downtown Denver’s Union Station.

Props to the small, internal marketing/design team on a job well done!

Who is the consultant that designed the new visual brand?

No consultant. It was the internal DIA design team that did it all. ;)

Boz Then why does the DIA web site states this exactly and news articles add that the monies spent on the outside consultant spent were not taxpayer dollars. From the site Q and A... "How much did it the logo cost to create? The logo was developed by an outside consultant and cost $120,000 which included initial design, color palette and corresponding visual guideline use documents and design templates."

They must have added this page to the site after I posted the initial press release. The original tone made it seem proud they kept it "all internal". Interesting. I don't see how the 120K could not be taxpayer dollars? I do like it, though. So there's that.
